Communication is vital in any organization.  Your state officer team is working to facilitate connections across the state by designing the iConnect program to engage members and chapters.

Each chapter assigns an IConnect Representative to report chapter activities on a monthly basis to the State Vice President of Member Engagement.  Participating chapters who achieved the following status will receive:

Bronze - Recognition in the program and at the Opening Session of the ILCDC Opening Session.

Silver - Recognition at the Banquet at ILCDC, a certificate of achievement, social media recognition, and a special Silver level sticker for each chapter member.

Gold - Recognition at the Banquet at ILCDC, certificates of achievement for chapter and iConnect rep, social media recognition, a special Gold level sticker for each chapter members, AND reserved seating at the Closing Session

To register as a chapter representative, please complete this form which also asks for your chapter president's name and contact information.

Leadership Council

Leadership Council

Leadership Councils are an opportunity for any Illinois DECA member to network with DECA members from all over Illinois.

Our Leadership Council will be on Wednesday, December 13th, at 5:30 pm. It Will last approximately 45 minutes and will be hosted virtually through Google Meet.

With this part of the year typically being a busy time for students, we want to make this meeting a fun and valuable break for ILDECA members. We will be hosting a Kahoot filled with DECA trivia questions, as well as questions similar to those that will be asked on the DECA cluster exams to help students interactively prepare. We will also be rewarding gift card prizes to the highest-scoring members!

Additionally, there will be an opportunity where members are encouraged to ask any questions that they may have for the State Action Team.

This Leadership Council is open to all members! To sign up for this event, please fill out the following Google Form.

They will be added to a Google Calendar listing and receive the Google Meet link in a separate email through their emails. We cannot guarantee that members will receive the meeting link if they don’t register by 4:00 pm on December 13th.

The next Leadership Council is tentatively scheduled for January 13th at 5:30 pm

Social Media Team

The Illinois DECA State Officer Team is extremely excited to find our new Social Media Team  this year, and we can't wait to begin coming up with awesome campaigns and posts. The Social Media Team will play a huge role in how we connect IL DECA, so we want to hear about your unique and creative ideas on how we can improve our social media.

The application is due October 31, 2022. Once we have tentatively chosen the team, we will be sending an email to your advisor to confirm and approve your application.

We ask that you upload an edited graphic, flyer, video, etc that is representative of your graphic design or filmographic talents, but we recognize that not everyone will have experience in doing so. Nevertheless, we ask for your best effort, regardless of which position you may end up choosing.

Check out the SMT Roles and Expectations to learn more and apply.
