Communication is vital in any organization. Your state officer team is working to facilitate connections across the state by designing the iConnect program to engage members and chapters.
Each chapter assigns an IConnect Representative to report chapter activities on a monthly basis to the State Vice President of Member Engagement. Participating chapters who achieved the following status will receive:
Bronze - Recognition in the program and at the Opening Session of the ILCDC Opening Session.
Silver - Recognition at the Banquet at ILCDC, a certificate of achievement, social media recognition, and a special Silver level sticker for each chapter member.
Gold - Recognition at the Banquet at ILCDC, a certificate of achievement, social media recognition, a special Gold level sticker for each chapter members, AND reserved seating at the Closing Session
To register as a chapter representative, please complete this form.
Connect your chapter to other chapters in the state while networking with chapter leaders to share questions, ideas, and concerns. Chapter Presidents or other chapter leaders are welcome to fill out this form. Your State President will contact you to let you know when the President Council will meet.
Leadership Councils are an opportunity for any Illinois DECA member to network with DECA members from all over Illinois. Leadership Councils topics will be posted here and on social media. Register with the form below and you will be sent more information.
Our second Leadership Council will be Wednesday, December 14, at 5:30 pm. This Leadership Council, titled “DECAhoot Quiz Bowl,” will last approximately 45 minutes and will be hosted virtually through Google Meet and Kahoot. Participants will have the chance to win gift cards and iConnect points by answering questions about DECA, each of the clusters, and general business trivia. Chapters with at least 3 members attending will have the opportunity to be recognized based on the highest average score.
Social Media Team
The Illinois DECA State Officer Team is extremely excited to find our new Social Media Team this year, and we can't wait to begin coming up with awesome campaigns and posts. The Social Media Team will play a huge role in how we connect IL DECA, so we want to hear about your unique and creative ideas on how we can improve our social media.
The application is due October 31, 2022. Once we have tentatively chosen the team, we will be sending an email to your advisor to confirm and approve your application.
We ask that you upload an edited graphic, flyer, video, etc that is representative of your graphic design or filmographic talents, but we recognize that not everyone will have experience in doing so. Nevertheless, we ask for your best effort, regardless of which position you may end up choosing.
Check out the SMT Roles and Expectations to learn more and apply.
