State Competition

DECA students have the opportunity to apply their marketing knowledge in a variety of competitive events. They compete in either individual or team events consisting of two role-plays. Local business and community leaders are needed as volunteers to judge the role-plays. DECA has over 26 events ranging from Food Marketing to Business Finance, something for every professional to apply their expertise as a judge. Members also compete in Prepared Events such as business plans, marketing plans, and selling events. Judge training is provided on the day of the conference prior to the events.

 

The Illinois Association Career Development Conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Rosemont on March 5 - March 7, 2026.  Judges are needed on Friday, March 6th from 7:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Online Qualifying Competition

Illinois DECA is excited to host an Online Qualifying Competition for five of our prepared events. Judges will review student pitch-deck video presentations (no longer than 15 minutes each) and provide scores using our online competition manager.

Judging is flexible and can be completed anytime between December 15 and January 12. Once you register, you’ll receive an email with clear instructions and login information to guide you through the process.
