Leadership Council
Leadership Councils are an opportunity for any Illinois DECA member to network with DECA members from all over Illinois.

Our Leadership Council will be Wednesday, December 13th, at 5:30 pm. It Will last approximately 45 minutes and will be hosted virtually through Google Meet.
With this part of the year typically being a busy time for students, we want to make this meeting a fun and valuable break for ILDECA members. We will be hosting a Kahoot filled with DECA trivia questions, as well as questions similar to those that will be asked on the DECA cluster exams to help students interactively prepare. We will also be rewarding gift card prizes to the highest scoring members!
Complementary to the Kahoot, we will be discussing ways to brainstorm ideas for written events, as well as business and leadership opportunities students can get involved in within and outside of DECA. Additionally, there will be an opportunity where members are encouraged to ask any questions that they may have for the State Action Team.
This Leadership Council is open to all members! In order to sign up for this event, please direct members to fill out the following Google Form.
They will be added to a Google Calendar listing and receive the Google Meet link in a separate email through their personal emails. We cannot guarantee that members will receive the meeting link if they don’t register by 4:00 pm on December 13th.
The next Leadership Council is tentatively scheduled for January 13th at 5:30 pm.

Competitive Events
As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
