Communication is vital in any organization. Your state officer team is working to facilitate connections across the state by designing the iConnect program to engage members and chapters.
Each chapter assigns an IConnect Representative to report chapter activities on a monthly basis to the State Vice President of Member Engagement. Participating chapters who achieved the following status will receive:
Bronze - Recognition in the program and at the Opening Session of the ILCDC Opening Session.
Silver - Recognition at the Banquet at ILCDC, a certificate of achievement, social media recognition, and a special Silver level sticker for each chapter member.
Gold - Recognition at the Banquet at ILCDC, a certificate of achievement, social media recognition, a special Gold level sticker for each chapter members, AND reserved seating at the Closing Session
To register as a chapter representative, please complete this form.
Connect your chapter to other chapters in the state while networking with chapter leaders to share questions, ideas, and concerns. Chapter Presidents or other chapter leaders are welcome to fill out this form. Your State President will contact you to let you know when the President Council will meet.
Leadership Councils are an opportunity for any Illinois DECA member to network with DECA members from all over Illinois. Leadership Councils topics will be posted here and on social media. Register with the form below and you will be sent more information.
Our fourth Leadership Council for 2022-23 is set to occur on Wednesday, February 22 at 6:30 pm. This Leadership Council will be approximately 45 minutes long. I'll be discussing the transition period between ILCDC and ICDC, including ways you can prepare your chapter for high-stakes competition, recruit members for the upcoming year, and retain members who didn't qualify for ICDC.
As an integral part of the classroom curriculum, DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
