Olivia Fisz
Vice President of Membership Engagement
Olivia Fisz is a three year DECA member and a junior from Deerfield High School. She is currently a co-president of her school’s chapter, which has grown to just over 270 members! Olivia has competed in Principles of Finance and Business Finance, and qualified for ICDC the past two years. Her time in Atlanta and Orlando have been some of her favorite memories of all of high school. This year, she is looking forward to competing in Business Finance again, as well as in a written event with two other members from her school. She is hoping to make it to ICDC again this year for a trip to Anaheim! She loves DECA because it has provided her with skills such as public speaking, leadership, communication, and more. Not only that, but the friends that Olivia has made through DECA is a big part of why she has loved her time in it.
Outside of DECA, Olivia is a research leader for her school’s congressional debate team. She also recently joined scholastic bowl. In school, her favorite classes have been economics, math, and this year, business incubator. She is really excited to come up with an idea for a brand-new product and business, and hopefully use some of her DECA skills to win at pitch night at the end of the year! After DECA helped her realize her passion for business and leadership, Olivia has taken every opportunity to learn more about those things and devote her time to them. She has taken classes over the summer at different college programs that focus on finance and investing, which is what she wants to do in her future career. These programs have been incredible experiences for Olivia, since they were so much fun but also taught her a lot. She hopes that all of these activities that she has been involved in will help her work towards her dream of starting her own hedge fund one day.
In her free time, Olivia loves listening to music, watching movies, and spending time with her friends. Some of her favorite artists are Frank Ocean, SZA, David Bowie, and more. Her record collection has grown to over 60 records, and she is always looking to collect more. She also loves watching movies. It’s too hard to pick a favorite, but some of them are The Social Network, The Truman Show, and The French Dispatch. Olivia also has her black belt in karate, which she started doing in fourth grade. With her friends, she spends her time going on Starbucks and Sephora trips.
Olivia is so excited to be a member of Illinois DECA’s State Officer team this year and make Illinois DECA the best it can be! She is confident that we are going to have a great year of DECA dominance!
