State Executive Conference October 7, 2009 Oakton Community College Des Plaines, Illinois

The State Executive Conference gives students the chance to kick-off their DECA year with a leadership conference filled with action and opportunity. Professional educational speakers are hired to assist students in developing leadership and team decision making skills. State Officer elections allow for students to take democratic action, as they select the year’s State Action Team. All in all, the SEC is a great way to begin your year in DECA. To be considered for state office all forms from Officer Candidate must be submitted to Karen Bear by September 23, 2009.

The registration fee for SEC is $22.00 to include a lunch for all those registered. The registration information is due on line by September 25th with no refunds given after September 30, 2009.

Your student's time is not well spent if attending SEC for only part of the time -- Stay until the end

The SEC is scheduled to be a full program of activities for your students. It becomes embarrassing for our members to be walking out of a presentation being given by speakers who have traveled some distance to share their expertise. It is also important to be part of the state election of Illinois DECA Officers. Get your money's worth. Stay for the entire program -- plan your bus schedule accordingly.
